Sand Valley Golf Resort

Michael Keizer has another winner on his hands with Sand Valley. Following in the steps of sister resorts Bandon Dunes and Cabot Cliffs, this is a great golf resort. Great golf, great staff and great accommodations in one central spot, making it ideal for any golfer holiday.

Sand Valley and it’s newest course, Mammoth Dunes just got a shout out for one of the best new golf resorts so we had to check it out.

Once again, this golf resort is in the middle of nowhere. A two hour drive from Madison airport or 4 hours drive from Chicago. Yes, that means this golf resort is in Wisconsin.

The main building has the check-in desk along with the bar and a restaurant and a golf shop. The staff was super attentive and quickly got us checked in. We had to wait for our room so we headed to the bar for lunch. The whole building overlooks the 18th tee box and greens of Mammoth Dunes so really quite a golfer view.

The room was simple and comfortable. Just like the sister resorts, rooms are sparse with a lot of space but everything you need. The bed was comfy and soft.

The bathroom was huge with a great powerful shower and heated floors. The bath products were by L’Occitane. Love.

After we got ready we headed over to the main building to get checked in to golf. A short shuttle drive takes you to the driving range or up the hill to the tees for the Sand Valley course. The building has a small bar with drinks, snacks, and amazing fresh tacos.

After golf we headed to Aldo’s restaurant for dinner. It’s a great farm to table style restaurant in the main building.

The next morning, my husband got to play Mammoth Dunes. Both courses were in great shape and fun to play. We did not get a chance to play the short course due to the short time we were there. But it was a pleasurable golf weekend and perfect for any guys golf trips.
