Hotel Alfonso in Seville

Of course I had to stay in the best hotel in Seville, Spain. Especially when it was only $300 a night! Talk about a steal. Part of the Am Ex Fine Resorts and Hotels with all the bells and whistles.

Arrival at the hotel was a pain in the neck. Only taxis can enter the area. So both our Uber and tour bus had to drop us off down the street. But the location is right in the middle of everything you want to see.

Other than that, this hotel is almost perfection! The location is right in the old town next to the Palace and Univerity and a couple blocks from the cathedral. It’s also a few blocks from the Plaza de España.

Check in was quick and efficient. We were upgraded to a deluxe room.

The room was large with plenty of space for luggage as well as abundant seating about the room. The bed was comfortable with soft sheets. The air conditioner was hard to read so we called the front desk to figure it out. We had a view of the Palace across the street but the window only tilts open a few inches.

The bathroom was nice with plenty of space. It had high end amenities. Shower was alright. Not the best but not awful either. Note the bathroom photos are fuzzy because of the metallic tiles which created a weird photograph.

The downside of all the hotel is the noise. Our room was two floors above the restaurant banquet area. One night there was a large party that flowed outside and you could hear the music all night. Also in the morning, you could hear people above and below you. So bring ear plugs.

The breakfast was included per our American Express benefits. It was an outstanding buffet breakfast including free champagne. But the spread was huge with amazing fresh fruit and juice. Lots of meats and cheeses and pastries along with hot dishes.

The Am Ex benefits also included a free dinner or lunch at the restaurant. It was a prefixed menu. And it was really good. Stuff I never would have ordered.

Altogether, you can’t beat the location of this hotel. It’s close to everything you want to see in Seville. And it’s comfy, clean and plush. We got a fantastic rate for $300 per night which I thought was pretty good! Just bring some earplugs!
