I should have known when I saw this palette on line for sale, it was going to lack something. Urban Decay is quite popular and the great items don’t get marked down several times.
This palette was online in the sale bin at Sephora.com. Half off plus an additional 20% off.
Housed in a sleek case with a prismatic type of cover, this palette has 15 eyeshadows. It looks like a great variety however the palette is really missing a couple of good highlighter shades. Although the top row looks like highlighters, they are more like color changing shadows to create a prismatic/shimmer effect for the other shades. Urban Decay calls them transformer duo chrome shades.
The five top row transformer shades are very chalky and don’t apply evenly. You really need to get a few swipes to get color. Otherwise, it just looked like a shimmery microfine glitter.
The other 10 shades are very pigmented but the colors were not very unique. And they were quite hard to blend. They were fine, just nothing special to really wow me. Temptalia.com does a great comparison chart of every color combination and the dupes. Although you can make some great color combinations, there isn’t enough of the duo chrome shades. They also faded during the day despite a good shadow base.
Even though this palette was a great price, I can’t say I found it worth keeping. This one is going back.
