Paris Marriott Rive Gauche Hotel Review

The Paris Marriott Rive Gauche Hotel and Conference Center is located at 17 Boulevard Saint Jacques. A quick block from the Metro 6 Glacier stop. A solid three star hotel with convenient metro access.

It’s not near any of the major tourist sites. But it is close to the Catacombs and Luxembourg Gardens.

The hotel itself is a three star hotel. Clean but run down carpets and rooms. But everything you need.

The star of this hotel is the elite status concierge access room. I’ve had Marriott status for a long time. A lot of lounges offer just breakfast.

Not this one. It usually has a full breakfast, afternoon tea with snacks and a full dinner selection with beer and wine! Yup.. free beer and wine.

They have quite a selection as well. Breakfast is only included seasonally so look for those dates. But includes eggs, meats cheeses fruits and coffee along with French pastries! Winter time served from 6:30am to 10:30am.

The afternoon tea includes tea and coffee as well as a couple of prepared desserts and packages snacks. It’s served from 3:00pm to 5:30pm.

The dinner is also very filling. Served from 5:30pm to 7:30pm. They have a selection of cured meats and cheeses along with a meat and vegetable/carbohydrate (varies between potatoes and rice) for the first hour and then a fish entree the second hour. Occasionally they throw in Fried chicken and shrimp during season. The buffet also has a green salad, fresh fruit, and a couple of prepared salads. And all that in addition to free wine and beer. Usually one red, one white and one beer. Plus all day free coffee, waters, Pepsi, Diet Pepsi, 7 up and juice. It’s really nice considering it’s free for status members. Be prepared for a rush though at dinner! Packed every night!

The wine and beer also stays open until 9:30pm which is a nice bonus to end of day sightseeing!

If you happen to be a Marriott member dying to get more points or wanting to use your points, this is a good option. But if you are looking something nice or in a better location, skip this hotel.
