I’m taking a break from my Cargo Eyeshadow Palette reviews to mix it up with this Estée Lauder summer palette.
Released for summer 2018 as part of the annual bronze goddess collection. I’m not usually a big Estée Lauder fan, but I loved the look of this palette. It sold out initially but I was able to pick one up when it came back into stock. Retails for $55 and made in Italy.
Comes packaged in a heavy round rose gold compact with a white circle pattern on top. Very chic looking. Inside is 6 eyeshadows, a highlighter and a blush. All colors are designed to work with that golden bronze summer tan look and it just feels like summer colors. There’s also a mirror.
You get a matte soft white, shimmery peach, shimmery bronze, shimmery chocolate, shimmery Aqua and shimmery evergreen. The shadow pigment is average. Not too light but not super pigmented either. No fallout. But you can definitely layer for more color. In fact, it’s plenty of color and the denser the brush head, the more color you can deposit. The colors work beautifully together. You really can achieve the bronze goddess look and use the aqua and green for subtle pop of color.
The highlighter is a shimmery golden peach and shimmery petal pink blush. Both of these layer quite well.
Overall, I like this palette. I’m just not sure it’s really my favorite palette. But I can’t say there’s anything wrong with it. I prefer the heavily pigmented beach palette by Urban Decay. But this is subtle enough for any novices to play with.
